The Pet Loo
The Pet Loo is a device that allows your pet to safely and hygienically do their business inside the comfort of your home or without relying on their owner for an opportunity. Prompted by a scheduled appearance on the ABC show New Inventors, The Pet Loo inventor, Simone Iglicki, sought the expertise of Polkadot PR to ensure that all relevant media were made aware of its television debut.
Following the success of this brief campaign, The Pet Loo hired Polkadot PR to continue the PR campaign and capitalise on the burgeoning media interest. Due to the overwhelming success in the Australian market, The Pet Loo is in negotiations with several countries and will be expanding internationally in the near future. They have overseas media lined up. They recently appeared on the Good Morning America show.

How we joined the dots . . .

Our PR campaign aimed to:

  • Alert the media to the new invention in the pet market
  • Introduce consumers and pet store owners to The Pet Loo.
  • Educate consumers about the purpose and function of The Pet Loo.
  • Capitalise on Simone’s exposure from the New Inventors show.
  • Increase stockists and sales of The Pet Loo.
  • Drive consumer attention to this new and innovative product.
  • Publicise The Pet Loo in print, radio and internet.

How we hit the spot . . .

Early in the campaign, The Pet Loo’s distribution channels and sales were hampered by a lack of awareness with the media and general public.

During one month of publicity we ensured The Pet Loo was seen in print media across the country, including: the Daily Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald, Adelaide Advertiser, Melbourne Weekly Bayside, Melbourne Weekly Magazine, Emerald Weekly, Tasmanian Mercury and the Northern Territory News. Along with internet publicity, Simone Iglicki also appeared on many radio programs including 6PR Perth, 97.3 Brisbane Mix FM, 2GB Sydney, 2UE Sydney, ABC Perth and New FM.

As The Pet Loo’s exposure increased, so did demand for the product and it soon sold out completely in Australia. Distribution channels also expanded rapidly and The Pet Loo is now even available to international markets.

During this campaign approximately 6,500,000 people were reached (based on industry readership figures).
