Sydney-based Plastic Surgeon Dr Mark Kohout has established a strong media profile thanks to an ongoing, effective and strategic PR campaign.

Amazonia

Amazonia is the only 100% Australian and certified Fair Trade importer of the Açaí berry superfood from the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest to Australia. After just three years in operation, Amazonia is now a multi-million-dollar business, selling its products in hundreds of health food stores worldwide. Amazonia’s mass success in the health food industry spearheaded the business’s expansion into the gourmet sector and into juice bar chains, as well as seeing it move into the mainstream consumer space, with a range of impulse, nutrient-dense products to purchase, such as organic Açaí dark chocolate, health bars and frozen smoothies. In addition, Amazonia aims to double its 2000 acres of preserved Açaí rainforest and the 4000 families that currently work under its Fair Trade initiatives.. Polkadot PR was brought on board to introduce Amazonia to consumer media and to position the Amazonia Açaí superfood as a supremely nutrient-rich product that is accessible to all.

How we joined the dots...

A Publishing House Tour of ACP, Pacific and News magazines over three days formed the basis of the launch and involved face-to-face interaction for both the agency and the Amazonia team, with over 100 tier-one journalists from the most popular lifestyle media titles in attendance. The opportunity to sample the ‘brand new’ products and learn about both the huge benefits of Açaí, together with the unique sustainability story of Amazonia, enticed many health-conscious journalists to attend the ‘brunch’ event, resulting in a broad spectrum of media coverage in titles such as Good Health, NW and OK! Magazine.
We undertook targeted pitching and seeding of Amazonia’s products to leading health and lifestyle journalists, nutritional writers and bloggers.
Pitched profiles of the founder Dwayne Marten and his team and their fascinating, sustainable business story to targeted publications.
Our agency set up strategic third-party alignments with key spokespeople and celebrities.
